Writing someone who is locked up is a lifestyle.
Dedicating those hours of writing to that one person.
Imagining that every word being written is said in person.
Imagining that one person in front of you.
Imagining their facial expressions as they read the letter.
Imagining the emotions they’re feeling when they’re writing back.
That one paper saying so much can travel for hours,
Days, weeks just to get in the hands of that one person
Who you miss so much.
Checking your mailbox 3 times a day, waiting for the letter.
Feeling anxious for it to arrive.
Finally holding that letter in your hands, sitting down
and writing back.
Starting the whole process all over
again.
So again I say, writing someone who is locked up is a lifestyle,
but a lifestyle we choose because
it’s worth it.
