Two Poems by Joslyn Stevenson

Joslyn Stevenson resizedTrouble

In and out of prison,
But never not high.
Been making bad decisions
Since your dad left, and your
Mom died.
Criss crossing on your train
tracks of thoughts
Wondering if standing in the middle
was for you or not.

 After Ernie’s Show

I’m sitting here at Denny’s
right after coming from Ernie Silva’s outstanding, yet depressing,
amazing,
heart-wrenching
wonderful solo performance/theatrical sesh – called Heavy Like the Weight of a Flame.
Damn, just like that, he got me hooked.
Hooked on reality.
Hooked on the truth.
He got me realizing everything is boof (fake).
Speechless is how I left the theater.
Thinking about life now,
not death.
